My Current Read

I've been seeing so many people post that they're reading Mindy Kaling's autobiography, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), which made want to jump on the reading bandwagon as well (so to speak)!
So far, I'm about half way through the book, and I LOVE it! She has such a strong "woman-power"attitude, but not in a crazy feminist kind of way. I just love her sense of humor and how normal she really seems. Can't wait to finish it!
What books are you currently reading? I'll need suggestions for my next read. :)

June Wish List

I wanted to start doing a monthly wish list of things that I've recently fallen in love with and well, wish I had! I really had to remind myself to not go overboard in this first post since there are so many lovely things out that I could include in a wish list. This being the first month, I started with things that I absolutely adore and have wanted for some time now:

  1. My first item is this darling summer dress I found on stylehive.com. Lately I've become obsessed with the Peter Pan collar and have been on the search for anything and everything that has one! I just think that this dress is perfect in every way, the color itself makes me so happy!
  2. This item is one of those that I've been pining after for quite some time! I am always in search of a bag that can handle everyday wear and tear as well as carry my many, many items. This one, found on Etsy, seemed like it'd pass all of my qualifications for a great bag!
  3. The third item, one that I'll just never have enough of, are succulents! I've recently started my collection with two new babies and would love to add some of the purple varieties to it!
  4. I hesitated when putting this item on my list! I don't have the best track record when it comes to sunglasses, to be honest with you. They always end up being sat on, or lost somewhere in the abyss that is my car, so buying high quality ones has never really been an option for me. However, I've always swooned over Ray Bans, and if I were to buy a nice set of sunglasses for myself, they would be from them!
  5. This dress was one that I fell in love with while looking through dress images (yes I know two dress on one list, can you say obsessed?!) But really, with all the weddings that I have to attend this summer, this one from Miss Self Ridge just seemed to be perfect for a fancier occasion!
  6. I've always been a sucker for Oxfords, but as you might have read in my previous post, I've always felt as though they make me look a tad manly :/. Then again, this pair found on Ebay are just too lovely and girlie to make you feel anything but!
  7. Finally, this last item is brought to you by the geek/organizing-obsessed side of me. This Dymo Label Maker is another item that I've wanted for some time now. Not only do I like the idea of neatly organizing everything with its own label, I'm also in love with the way the labels look as well. Another bonus of this brand is the fact that you get to choose the color of the cartridge to personalize your labels!
Well, I hope you've fully enjoyed reading my rambles over all of the things that I wish I had in my life! As I mentioned before, this list could have gone on and on, but I'll just have to save it for some future posts! Have a lovely week!

What I'm wearing today!

Today we're heading over to my cousin's house to celebrate my grandma's 73rd birthday. I wanted to get a little dressed up for the special occasion so I wore my flowy peach dress with my brown oxfords. To be completely honest, I usually don't feel brave enough to wear these shoes since they tend to make me feel a tad on the man-ish side, but paired with this dress, I can't help but feel girlie!

Hello Blogging World!

So I've been racking my brain trying to think of the "perfect" first post for this blog, when suddenly I realized, why not just start with my most recent DIY?!
Well... here it is! tonight I made a camera strap for the Nikon I just recently purchased. I bought the camera off of Amazon so she's seen better days and didn't come with a strap or a bag, but in my opinion, she's perfect (now even more so since I made a strap for her!).
I'm thinking about posting the tutorial for the strap however, my picture taking abilities are a tad sub par right now so I'm not sure if I should or not yet.
Overall I'm satisfied with how it turned out and I can't wait to be able to take my camera with me everywhere I go now! :)
